Today our backsplash guy was over for the kitchen but he ran into some issues with his tools. He should be back tomorrow and Saturday.
Also my cousin was by and finished the ends of all of the Cat5 and Coax lines. Cable gets installed next Friday (2/26).
Our FM should be by tomorrow as well working on the punch list, passing final plumbing inspection, and installing the new backup sump pump.

Day 185 - Water On
We now have water so we don't have to run somewhere else to use the bathroom. We unfortunately failed the electrical inspection. Seems like a lot of little stupid things but none the less they must be done. Plumbing coming out on Friday to finish inspection and install new backup sump pump.
Tomorrow will start the kitchen backsplash into next week. I also have my cousin coming out tomorrow to do some more work with the cat5 and coax lines before internet/cable is installed next week.
Here is now what the punch list looks like after our FM did some work:

Here is now what the punch list looks like after our FM did some work:
- Powder room sink drain doesn’t open all the way
Can’t replace floor vent by the front doorMissing 2 toe kick floor vents in the kitchenBasement bathroom missing the doorknob- Fix holes where the AC Unit used to be on the garage wall
Loose baseboard on Jefferson’s bathroom closet right sideCaulking on Jefferson’s sink- Messy plaster job on Jefferson’s bathtub
- Missing a doorstop on Jefferson’s bedroom closet
- Mater bathroom wall between shower and tub, not straight at all (you can tell when you look at the baseboard on the floor) - this is going to be another 1.5-2 weeks worth of work
Master bathroom countertop needed caulking- Master bedroom doorknob hits barn door when open all the way - needs a special doorstop
- Loft window top right plastic is still loose/popped out still
- Front door floor trim looks messy and a gap, not sure if that’s normal
- Painting of the front door and garage door in the Spring with Bruce
Front door trip is very slow and needs to be fixed and there are staple holesMissing lock on the powder room bathroom doorFront closet has a lock on it?Drywall in the greatroom carpetLaundry room floor vent doesn’t fit- Spring hinge for the garage door when you enter the Mudroom
Down stairs window left of fire place missing the screen (it’s sitting in front of it)- Hydraulics for the bench seat (lid is very heavy) - FM to find something more heavy duty
Bridging for the downstairs floors. They echo a little when you walk. My Dad mentioned you can do bridging on the floor boards from the basement to help with the sound. -we decided not to do this- There is a scratch under the slider door handle on the outside - FM has a call into someone to fix this
- Caulking under the bartop
- Put the stairs back on the back of the house

Day 184 - Cleaning and Prep
Today we finished cleaning the basement after the water. Not much trouble and things look great. We have a battery backup system going in on Thursday.
Tomorrow is a big day with final electric inspection, the water meter is going in, and more deliveries. If all goes well Thursday and Friday the backsplash should go in with the other final inspections by Friday. After that we submit for temporary occupancy and then we should be able to move in.
Our FM will be by the house the majority of the day dealing with punch list we have given him:

Day 183 - Water Troubles
Looks like the power went out during the day today as we found puddles of water in the basement. We spent several hours cleaning and drying and I think we've got it under control but the carpet of the bottom of the stairs are still damp. TIME TO FIND A GOOD BATTERY BACKUP!

Day 178 - Couches
Today the couches came in and they fit perfectly. Just enough room to get by and looking great.
The painter was by today as well finishing the stairs and some other odds and ends. We can't use the stairs now until Saturday which is perfect since we have another delivery on that day (dining room table, chairs, bar stools, and master bedroom furniture).
The wife and I are taking off work tomorrow to do some more painting, cleaning, and maybe even some box moving. We're working on a list of items to send our FM so that we can keep track of everything as there are a bunch of tiny little things.
