Day 47 - Electrician Meeting

We had a good day with the electrician today (Keith).  We were originally supposed to meet at 8am but that got pushed back to 9:15am.  He had the majority of the house marked up for outlets and such.  He was very helpful to provide some ideas for us and this really opened our eyes to items we never really talked about.  Most of our upgrades were with lighting and switches.  He also will be doing my coax, Ethernet, and speaker wiring for me. 

The price-tag for all of these changes was a shock but now I truly see how a bunch of small items (along a couple of big ones) can add up fast.  We're going to sit down and look at the finances tonight to make some final decisions.

He pointed out some concerns with the tight space behind the kitchen island.  I'm not so sure it's as much of a problem as he thought.  I did some research and had some others come out to give their opinion.  I think we maybe move the island 2-3 inches away from the stove but not much more otherwise it could be hindered by the refrigerator. 

We also noticed that the plumbing for the hot and cold water in the garage were put on the back wall.  Keith pulled them out of the wall (didn't realize they weren't set) and we put them closer towards the front but still on an inside wall.  Glad they weren't finalized yet as we wanted to put a workbench back against the wall.
